i <3 the siren

so imagine the webmaster as a young child with unregulated internet access, where i ended up finding out about a neat little indie game called the binding of isaac. i read a bunch of wiki pages, got scared by the enemy design, and then never played it at prime time for autism. however, i certainly did not forget about the game, just had other games to play first for a very, very long time until around the turning point between 2025 and 2026, where i decided i'd start playing with the intent of an eventual 100% way into the future.

it takes me a little while to unlock the alt path/floors, but i'm pleasently surprised by them, it's a good difficulty spike, i make my way to Mausoleum I, the boss room, and that was my first encounter in-game with, Well, i didn't think much of it because my items that run were kind of busted, but i did get to hear her sing.

maybe there's something deeply wrong with me to cause this, but there seems to have been a break between the fourth wall, the siren's call, and my heart, mind, and soul to all connect at once, and cause what most people would call "falling in love with fictional girls".

i mostly just do things in the name of art, hoard art of her (props to the siren Mega folder guy, lifesaver fr!) and draw and commission and sometimes physical goods.you can look at all of that on the other tabs of the page.

if you're reading this, i still haven't recovered from the brainwashing. may my soul be claimed in her name and i be sent to hell (⸝⸝⸝• ω •⸝⸝⸝) ♡

Moe (萌え) is Japanese slang that is most accurately described as the feeling of strong affection one gets towards a fictional character they find cute, mostly used in the otaku market.

and i consider her to be moe and also in some ways, gap moe. she's also two of my personal weaknesses when it comes to giving me moe response; side character and mobface. i love characters that aren't entirely developed because it leaves good room for personal interpretation (please read the theory part of the other page!) without having to break previous canon, and i'm kind of a pervert for a good, simple mobface / mob gao. she's also gap moe just for being in the game she's in. you don't expect cute demon girls in the dead baby poop game, but she is there, and she is moe.

headcanon stuff (self indulgent)

i generally characterize her as being more high-energy than the other demons, and while i wouldn't say she would fit the genki girl archetype, kind of close to it in comparison as a result.
i also think she looks ever so slightly different to everybody who looks at her based off of their own perception of the world as a whole. while still retaining a pretty general appearance, details will most likely be different if you ask two people to give a verbal description of her.
in other words, she's kind of a cognitohazard. not like i'm complaining.
the type of girl who would beg you to win something cute from a claw machine for her and make puppy eyes and a manipluating voice to get you to do it. obviously who would resist this?
at the same time (and why i wouldn't call her true genki), has a very listless side to her; if you gave her the opprotunity to just lie around all day, there would be no hesitation in taking it.
the siren minions in question treat her akin to a pop idol (projection of how she tends to see herself)
most demons have a preference for rock and metal as a way of parody and scaring those who think the genres will lead to satanism in the youth, but she's actually Different for branching out beyond that -- they're still her favorite genres, but she'll pretend she's above the masses of hell anyways.

generally also a clingy person to those she already has wrapped around her vocal chords. despite the nature of it, she's struggling to not also fall in love with whoever she brainwashes.

slight ranting about other how people see the siren

i've noticed a very irritating feedback loop regarding how people who play this game view the siren where you have a loud group that merely sees her as something to oggle and draw bad and off-proportioned porn of, which feeds into a slightly smaller group of people who write her off entirely as coombait character/obnoxious fans (they have a point on the latter). this is now a public service announcement;

SHE IS NOT A DOMMY MOMMY MUCH LESS YOUR DOMMY MOMMY, treat her with respect or burn in hell for eternity
